Very nice wagon but I think that it is priced at least $5000 to high.

More like needing a 50% off sale.

If you look very close you will notice the interior panels all have different shades of color, carpet in the backseat area on right side appears dirty and why would you leave an oil/tranny fluid bottle laying in the back seat in between the two sections of seats. Being a AZ car I can only assume the interior has been extremely faded at one point and repainted/redyed with SEM paint. Way over priced car. I would say it is a $6,500-$7,500 car. McCoy has sold nicer wagons for around $8,500. And the red 75 Impala Wagon for $9,900 in Texas is ten times nicer

Yes! You are correct Sir! Last yr before Cat converters. Good looking car, prolly a 350 or 400 SB engine?

Could be a 454 as heavily optioned as this one is.

I think the 454 equipped cars would have had the "454" emblem on the front fenders, either under the side marker lights like the 73's or possibly just behind the tires?

Here's a 454 emblem on the wide chrome bodyside molding just behind the front tire on a '74 Caprice coupe. I can't find a brochure photo of the '74 wagon.

That '74 Caprice Estate has been on Oldride.com for quite some time. And I seem to recall other photos which hinted that the undercarriage might be hiding some issues.

But that Caprice Classic ad takes me back. So evocative of the American romance with the automobile. You don't see that anymore.

Caprice's had the 400 and optional 454 if I remember correct. The impala has the 350 engine only if I remember right

Yeah, I think all of the 1974 Chevy wagons (full-size models) had a standard 400 engine at least according to this one page brochure page from the 1974 sales brochure. I would say that due to styling of the side trim on the Estate wagons that if they had a 454, it would be on the middle part of the front fender like they are on my '72 Caprice Estate. Funny thing about my wagon is that it has a 402 big block, but for some reason GM put "400" emblems even on the big block 402 cars and put the 454 emblems on the 454 cars.

Here is the "400" emblem on mine, I would say it would be on the same place for a '74 with the 454 engine...

Here is a '72 I was considering at one time with the 454...

In '71 & '72 Chevrolet called the 402 a 400 big block and just used that badging. They were left over 396 from earlier years, is what I've always been told. So just cause it says 400, you never knew if under the hood was a small block or a big block.
