Garage decor' Well I've got my garage just about done. I still want to do something on the floor b/c the oil, paint, etc stained concrete floor just looks terrible. My thought is to do some sort of tile, but I need something that will withstand the garage abuse plus not break the bank. (Have yall priced RACEDECK???....WOW!!!) I'd rather stay away from the epoxy paints because it being so HOT in Texas I'm afraid with time it will peel no matter how well I prep it. I thought about stain, but I'm afraid I'll have the same issue with the clear sealer I'd have to put on top to keep it looking good. Any tile installers here??? What do yall think about a black 18" porcelain tile laid in a brick pattern with black grout??? I'll post some photos tomorrow so yall can see the color scheme. (white and black broken up with a red chair rail) Any and all suggestions welcome. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
I can personally attest that epoxy paints will do fine in Texas. I applied a water based epoxy coating 14 years ago and it has done remarkably well. This floor sees some heavy, daily use and the shop is not air conditioned. It has worn through in a few places now but only where the concrete was really rough and there wasn't enough coating applied. I would use it again. Prices will be different now but it cost about $300 for materials to do 1200 sq ft. Coverage is 300-400 sq ft per gallon. I prepped the concrete with muriatic acid after a thorough cleaning. Anyway, if you are interested talk to http://www.tricomcoatings.com/ I think the product I used was Hydropox #2
BTW, can I have details on these items? Is the lower one a subwoofer? What are the p/n's and dimensions? I'm looking for some good stereo components for my wagon.

Updates! Well I got my floor finished in my garage a while back. Was browsing my local Craigslist and found a guy who was doing a lil remodel job where he removed some RACEDECK flooring form his workshop. It's gray and red so I cleaned them all up one by one and installed it in my garage. Even had some left over for my shed. Now as far as the wagon I've been having some issues with it starting so I just purchased a Powermaster mini starter. From what I have read this should eliminate the hesitant COLD starts and HOT starts as well. This Summer should be a lil more pleasant as well. I just ordered the underhood A/C kit which includes new evaporator and heater core. The kit consists of all new Sanden compressor, condensor, hoses, valves, hardware, etc. Waiting on the UPS man to make an appt to get it all installed. Will post pics once everything is in.
A/C Update! Stopped by the shop and the wagon starts right up easily now thanks to the new PowerMaster Mini-starter. The A/C is just about wrapped up. I got lucky and my evaporator was fine and held vacuum so I saved a little there since now it will be going back. Everything else fit with some modification (ie. brackets having to be made). They still need to do some testing and I am having them replace the driver's side wheel bearing/seal due to a small oil leak that it had so hopefully it'll be done by Friday, but we shall see.
Update! I went and picked up the wagon from the shop today. All the A/C components are installed including the new heater core. They also installed the driver's side rear wheel bearing/seal, which fixed the fluid leak. Also spent the day washing the wagon up and detailing under the hood. Ran new conduct trying to clean it up some of the wiring and protect it from the heat. Last week I cleaned and painted a dash pad I found off Ebay. It was brown, but now it's blue. I installed it today too and it looks great. The PowerMaster starter fixed the cold and hot starting issues I had. This summer should be a lot more fun.
That's what SHE said! Sorry guys, I couldn't resist and Thank you very much...I have truly enjoyed her.
