Oh Wix, that sux big time. Can you take whatever may be in your garage, park it in the driveway and put your amazing wagon in the garage? Hail in Sept? Who would've ever thought. My condolences, for sure.
I´m so sorry to hear about this!!! My estate has been hammered by those little hard things from a pine tree (dont know what they are called in english) But fortunally, its just the hood that is damaged on my car.. Mother nature seems to have something against estate wagons.. Maybe in my case, i should have understood that the parking under a pine, in the autnum would cause me some problems? Anyhoo, sorry to hear abot your car, it still is a killer build and i am sure that you will sort this out as well as all the other setbacks we all suffer in building cars.. //Jim
They're called Pine Cones. For some weird reason, this year, they fell off the trees in their green state (not brown and open like usual), around here. First time I see that.
Thanks guys! Today, I removed the vinyl top, and it might be reusable, or I might just leave it off altogether. I was bummed yesterday, but now I'm fine with this. I actually enjoy the bodywork part of this project the most, so I guess I get to do it all a little while longer. Will this dang car ever be done? David
It'll get done, wixy. We have faith in you. Again...I'm sorry this happened. I wish there was more I could do besides saying that I feel sorry for you.
think of it this way....it gives me more time to get my act together to be there for the maiden voyage.......there will be maidens right????
Foxy and Rev, you guys are so great! The maidens were here, but they bailed when they saw the hail damage! We're all on our own now! David
No one said anything about maidens being there? I guess I didn't get that memo. Don't get discouraged David it may take a lil while longer, but in the end it'll all be worth it. Just think one of one. Pretty cool stuff there!
Sick Wix, when I saw the email I got a sick feeling. I waited until tonight to read the posts. I'm glad that you have the great attitude that you have. Don't get discouraged, you have alot of wagon lovers pulling for you. Can't wait to see the repairs. Good night and God Bless. Firehaus.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
David, you must have enough positive energy to power... well, an Estate Wagon If it were me I'd be bummed a lot longer than just a day! And you must have some special stuff in that garage to keep the Buick out on the driveway. But that doesn't hide the fact that you had some incredibly bad luck... A huge hail storm? Who expects that?? Good luck with the repairs and reworking, the finished Wagon is still going to be awesome no matter what! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima And now you got another story to tell All the best!
David, I hope all is well. I just read that Hot Rod Power Tour is ending in Arlington at the beginning of June. Maybe that can give ya a lil incentive to get your wagon going so we can meet up there. I don't plan on actually doing the tour due to expenses, but I think it be fun to drive out there, blend in, and take a look around. Looks like they are endiung up at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie.
Just went through all 68 pages of this thread. I must say David you have some amazing craftsmanship and patience. The wagon is turning out beautiful and the amount of detail and custom touches are perfect flowing with the car. Cannot wait to see what it looks like when it is fully complete and assembled. Keep up the awsome work
He must be really busy banging out all the hail dents? Haven't heard anything in a while. Hope all is going good?
