Sorry about that, Wix. I think you had better avoid anything glass related during the rest of the build!:(

Well, my spirits are lifted. I just called an area auto glass distributor, and he has one in stock for $135! Yea! Now, if I can just keep it in one piece! :rofl2:

I just read elsewhere that cowboys don't squat with their spurs on David. You may want to remember than when you are squating to pick up the new windshield  to install it............ we'd hate to think of the possible consequences.....

I installed the new windshield yesterday. Easy as pie! Butyl tape...love it!
    The windshield looks great! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

I will take a pic tomorrow, as I just got my 98 back, and my camera was in it. :camera:

My windshield installation went very well. :yup:

I also painted a centerline down the roof, in anticipation of installing the vinyl roof. But I want all of the glass installed before I do the roof, because sealing the edges of the glass with black urethane will be a messy process.

Yesterday, I painted the rear pillars with the white interior color. This had to be done before glass installation, because the pillars are inaccessable once glass covers them.

I tried to install the rear side glass, but it didn't go well. I had the butyl tape perfectly placed along the opening, and the glass clean and ready, but it is a one-shot deal, and I blew it. The glass has so many curves and edges to line up, and I had it ever so slightly, too far back. :slap:
I had to pull it off, and somehow managed not to ruin my freshly painted white paint. :whew:
Today, I just ordered some more butyl tape, and will try again soon.
Installing the rear glass is definitely a two man job. I will make sure I have help next time. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

I have also been trying to finish up my engine compartment. I am fairly happy with how it looks, but I still have a ways to go. My air cleaner assembly is stripped and ready to paint. I also have new stickers and labels for everything.

The engine compartment freshening has been a much more time consuming project than I ever thought it would be. But then again, that goes for this entire project! :p

Your work continues to be exemplary, Wix!(y) And....yup....2 guys will make that rear window job MUCH easier. You are brave to try it alone...but then...being a loner, I do stuff like that, too. The car is taking shape and I can see it heading in the direction of your design. Again....exemplary work that should make you proud. By watching your work ethic I can visualize the car being perfect when done. Great work, bud!:D

David, you can't really intend to drive that gem. You need a giant mantle over the fireplace to park it. Too nice and too original to drive.:pub:
