Beautiful David, I have been following you on this project. Can't wait to see if you can use the moon or sun roof what ever it is supposed to be called. I have a suggestion, call it a "celestial roof" especially since your wagon looks like it came from Heaven. I want to thank all of you Veterans out there in Wagondom for your service to you country and to the ones of us who are able to have the life that we have because of your sacrifices. I never took the time to thank my dad when he was alive. Firehaus
Your car will be sooo fine! I really admire a person like you who no matter what it takes will make the car as fine as you imagined before you started! I am deepley impressed, and glad you share..
hey David - check this out - had some rust fixed - window had to come out, was causing the bottom to rot - scary but they said it was e z
Hey Jeffrey, looks like you caught that rust just in time. That shop is doing good work on your beauty. Rust around the rear windows can be a problem with these wagons. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3605 Those little metal tabs that the metal trim clips mount on seem to be the problem. The sharp metal clips chip paint off the tabs, exposing bare steel...dirt and water hide behind the molding, and it all rusts big time. I wish GM had coated and painted these wonderful vehicles better! I can't wait to see your finished results! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima David
boy that was some thread on Adam's clamshell rust - I got lucky I think - still scary to think what I do not see oh well the price you pay for entertainment - David how's yours coming? any pics?
Now I know where 'Big A$$ Wagon' comes from! It just came up in the main page header. Always wondered where all the greenies got this "Big-A$$ wagon' slogan from. I wonder if we can blame today's child obesity on the automotive companies? Most of their parents were conceived in them. No huh?
Yeah, I received a huge package yesterday...haven't seen it yet, but I'm excited! Thank you, FMC/Scott! You are my secret Santa! YOU ROCK! Let the sun shine in! David
Not much of an update, I know...but December has been nuts! I will be back in Dallas tomorrow, and will take some pics of my sunroof surprize. Also, today is the very last day for registering a vintage daily driver to run "Year Of Manufacture" license plates. After today, this fun option is gone forever. I have been restoring a set in the little bit of free time this month. Got it registered on the 28th...barely made it! Pics next year...tomorrow! David
