I'd want to take a close look at the underside of this one, but on the surface it looks interesting indeed! For one, it has the 3rd seat, as evidenced by the step pads on the rear bumper. It also has the grab handles in the trim beside the tailgate. They were a separate option. It is also the only Monaco wagon I've seen without wood grain. Here in Canada, at least, the wood was standard on the Monaco, and could not be normally be deleted. If this one was built wood grain delete, it could be quite a rare example of a not very common car. I'd love to see interior pictures too. This one looks like it could be quite the car all done up nicely.

I think Mother Nature deleted this Monaco's woodgrain! :yup: If you look closely at the front fender and door, you can faintly see the outline of the two-toned woodgrain, especially on the fender extension.

I like the way the woodgrain goes on the windshield pillar and along the roof until it reaches the D-pillar.

Very cool wagon. I sure hope this one can be saved. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

If you look closely at the front of the right fender, the woodgrain is still there. It's just extremely faded.

From just my general observation on these, I don't think the 'woodgrain' lasted very long on them. It's been missing on this one a very long time.

I'm trying to figure out why it's powered by a 400. As far as I know the 400 didn't join the fleet 'til '74 meaning that that horse should be a 383 or 440 in there(y)

    Brochure says a 2-barrel 360 was standard with a 2-barrel 400 and a 4-barrel 440 optional

Yeah if you look closely, you can see a light hint of the woodgrain.

Personally, I thought that the wood-grain was overdone on these... I didn't like the way it went along the upper window areas.

The cassette player/recorder was not a common option...
I have had a couple thru the years and still have a (NOS) mic...

Option was offered in most of the cars with exception of the low
    end cars as Dart/Valiant....
