Looking way overpriced for $5000. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/buick/estate_wagon/1683527.html
Yep, couldn't agree more. There is rust everywhere, but nothing fatal! This one has had a full working life as well by the looks. However what is up with that hood mounted rpm gauge??? Was that a factory option on the wagon, or was that taken from one of the sports models?
I don't believe any hood-mounted gauges were factory options on a car like this. The car is overpriced by at least a factor of two. Lots of rust around the windows and some rust-through in the trunk floor. Interior is a mess whichi is why the front seat has a blanket on it. Manual tailgate, which I have to believe is unusual on a higher-end car like a Buick, and no roof rack, cruise control, power windows, or power seats, and I'm guessing no rear defogger. He doesn't show a front door, so we don't know about power locks, but I would guess no as well. Also, I have a question about this photo. What's that black lever-like thing just inside the door sill next to the Fisher Body logo on the sill plate?
Yup, you nailed that bang on...for one of those tiny just enough f-extinguisher to waist your time ones. .
Yeah, that is true. Most of the Buicks had the power gate, but seems like here lately I have been seeing several Buick Estate Wagons and Olds Custom Cruisers with the manual gates. It actually does have rear window defroster (grids in window). I am not sure if anyone ever ordered the window defogger with the defroster option. I guess anything is possible these old cars were so oddly optioned. It also appears to have the "base" interior, but does have the optional "custom-cushion" 3-spoke steering wheel. Odd as it seems, it is lower optioned than my '72 Kingswood Estate, as mine does have 3rd seat, luggage rack and tilt wheel. I have actually seen some '72 Impala wagons better optioned than this Buick, but I still like it. I would love to have a wood-grained '71-74 Buick Estate Wagon. Exterior wise, it has front bumper guards/strips.
