Certainly lot a common model, as the Sport Fury was the top of the line luxury model, and quite the equivalent of the Monaco. Being a 2 door makes it fairly uncommon, too. It looks like it is well worth a look if you are interested. Does need the bezel around the instrument panel, but otherwise looks not bad.

Man, I've really been eyeballing big 2 doors that last few months. My first car was supposed to be a Fury III Sport. For some reason, I wanted a big car when I was 15-16. I looked hard for the right car and found one at a used car lot. It had a couple raised bulges on the hood with 383 badges. They were asking $500 and it was actually it great shape. It was a Friday night and before ATM's. My dad gave them a check for $100 and I went to the bank on Monday and we showed up Monday night to buy it. IT WAS SOLD! :banghead3: The salesman said the deposit was for him to hold it and he couldn't keep another salesman from selling it. My dad gave them crap and wished he had bought it himself and just let me give him the money, but he wanted me to have the feeling of paying with my money I saved from my bag boy job.

    I don't think that Plymouth is $9500 rare,lol.

Great story Freak, I remember these early 70's, late 60's Plymouths well. The local PD rolled in Plymouths and our driver's ed car was a Satelite.

Production was 3,912 for the coupe, 3,957 for the fasttop, and 375 for the Sport Fury GT coupe. Engine breakdown is not available from the source I quoted.

The Sport Fury had a 318 stock, with a 383 available. The Sport Fury GT had a 440 or a 440+6 available.

Definitely NOT $9,500 in this condition! It's missing the DS- A-pillar cover, the dash is cracked, the door armrests are in terrible condition, the steering wheel is discolored, and the lower dash cover is completely missing. The tires do not match (all four???).

    It's a solid $4K car, as it sits, if it's a good 383 car. $3K for the 318. He's smokin' somethin' at $9,500!

BTW, ALL '69 - '71 Fury hoods have the twin "power bulge" hood, regardless of trim level or engine...unless you have a 440 GT car, of which the AirGrabber hood was an option!

There was NO "AIR GRABBER" option avail on the full size Plymouths..

No Air Grabber??? I've seen one, about two years ago, at a show in Dallas. If it ain't factory, it sure as hell looks it.

I'm gonna say what everyone else says when it comes to Chrysler - "Never say never!"

Sure looks nice from the pictures. Maybe a bit too high. I'd be tempted to look if I were closer and was intersted. Face it, crappy look alike late models sell for way more.

Eagle Freek I know the feeling. In the late 60's I supposedly bought a 1964 Ford convetible, 390. Ford lot was only 1/2 mile from home. It was closing time and the salesman told me it was too late to do the paperwork. He'd hold the car till after I got off work the next day.
Yea right. Got home and the Ford was in my driveway. Boy did I feel good! That is till my brother-in-law came out to show me his NEW CAR.
Brother-in-law had no idea I wanted the Ford. Another salesman didn't either and sold it. I had a few words with my salesman! @#*&!:slap:

    I also lost a 1957 Chevy ht and a 1929 Model A 2-door in similar deals.

Of course there were those cars I did buy I wished someone else got!:(

It is neat! Especially the rare reversed Good Year logo tires? Also, didn't know these cars had leaf spring front ends. :hmmm:

You know Greg I noticed that too, I'd like to get a closer look at that, is it stock? That sway bar doesn't look stock to me either.

Simple explaination. This was built near the Christmas shutdown and when the line crew got in a hurry they mounted the body backward.
Odd the tire markings are backward yet the other body markings look right. Where's the steering wheel?:rofl2:
