GM guy here, so take that into consideration.

If it were a choice between Chevy or Buick, Chevy.

If it were a choice between Olds (or Pontiac) or Buick, Buick.

But as much as I like GM's, this time I would say Ford.

Back in the day when these cars all found their way to Pick-A-Part, we would ALWAYS see 455, full power everything, high zoot Buicks from the late 60's/early 70's. The Fords were ALL very plain, low or no option, small motor.

If you wanted to you could more easily recreate the Buick if you found you had sold it in error. I don't think you would ever be able to replace the Ford.

I'd try to keep both (got way too many cars right now, what's one more?), but would definetly not let the Ford get away from me.

My thoughts, as a GM guy.

Good points, and the more I look at these two cars the more I would be leaning toward the Ford. And I'm more of a GM guy kinda, too.
But I will still take that Buick when the prof throws it away!

    Tom,

You make some very enlightening points. Although you don't see many '70 Buick wagons around these days, you very rarely find a well-optioned Ford wagon such as mine. I think, with a little work, the old Ford will make a nice driver, vacation car, etc.
