    It's a stunning car. Is it $17,000 stunning? I don't know.

I think that, for $17,000, the engine should look better than this. It should look as new as the rest of the car. Maybe they're trying to preserve "patina?" Baloney. Clean it up. Detail it.

    Jaunty,
I agree. It does not take much to clean it up. In the case of laying down $$ for a vehicle, appearances count!

If it really is the honest miles, sure clean and detail the engine bay, clean the details that is, make it shine and nothing more. 'If" I was going to buy at any price a claimed 7300k car and patina under the hood was repainted/touched up....well then I would agree it would be over priced. Still pricy but it's only original once....... leave the rattle can detail for the lawn mower:D

The MSRP for a 1968 Bonneville wagon was $3,968. That is about $27,500 in 2015 dollars. Given you couldn't buy a new Pontiac today even if you wanted means this one probably has a good way more to go. There are still 5 days left.

I'm surprised the seller didn't get Pontiac Historic Services documentation for the car?
It seems like every other '68 Poncho was painted Verdoro Green, even the goats.
