I can't find any reference to a woodgrain version/option in the '67 Meteor brochure, and it seems unlikely that FoMoCo would offer it on the lower series, rather than the upper Montcalm. I have to suspect that someone added it.

Canadian members: Anyone have any light to shed on this?

Yeah, me thinks the woodgrain, although nice, didn't come with the car. However, the engine compartment adds up, and at least its a 390 and not a small block(not that there's anything wrong with small blocks)

Wasn’t there a popular matchbox car in the late 60’s early 70’s of this car…in the same green and without wood grain? Could have swore I had one. I think it had a plastic head of a dog hanging out the rear tailgate window.

Good memory. Yes this ‘67 car reminds me of that ‘68 Commuter with the dogs. Virtually the same green. Lol. 3CA79D4A-6B4E-4A40-86E9-CBA22F1B706D.png

Matchbox issued a similar '77 Cougar wagon sans dog under the same number, but different series.

As to the 390 vs. 289, it could have had the 240 six cylinder, which was the base engine even for wagons. But I agree that the 390 was a much better choice. I think the 289 would be a little light on torque for a full-sized wagon. Quite a number of years ago, I turned down a '67 Country Squire, because I thought it would struggle up the mountains of western Maryland. Note that in 1970 the 351 became the standard engine for all big Ford wagons, and the base engine stayed at that size or larger every year until the 1979 downsize.
