Yes, I've taken the deluxe rack off of a 67 Wagon, but it was in 1992 and I don't recall white plastic spacers... Do you have pix of them? Here is a photo of our original Dealer Rotunda Car Top Carrier on our '67 which also has a cam and headers and sounds very similar to yours... My brother just welded a crossover pipe in there about a month ago which did help modulate the sound somewhat, but to me that sounds like an FE block is supposed to sound.
I'm feeling fine, surprisingly, even to me! I lucked out with a Scot Surgeon doing a short tour in the ER, the other evening and I think I'll look LESS ugly than before! Your wagon is truely a work of love and art, Doc. My admiration. Beautiful.
I loaded the 6 of us in the wagon and drove to my parents house for Thanksgiving! We had a standing ovation when we pulled up. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima When I drove my two neices and my brother around the block yesterday, their heads were on a swival looking out all the windows. I think kids today have nothing but high seats and dark windows to try to peer through in sport utilities. Then the DVD player catches their eyes and they miss seeing whats passing by outside. With the old wagons, there is nothing blocking the panoramic view!
Congrats on the Thanksgiving outing! I bet yall had a blast...The weather was a lil if'ee so I didn't take the wagon out. I'm hoping this weekend will be sunny and cool. The wagon is looking great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I look at the first page of your thread and these latest pictures, I think you're the tougher one, Brian. Can't believe how you've not just the restored the wagon, but the faith that some real gifts lie under some pretty disasterous-looking packages. There are no words...
Looks like my son has talked me in to going to Ford Carlisle meet in June. I have been to Carlisle once and that was almost 20 years ago. He wants to drive down in his 1995 Ford Taurus SHO and I will be taking the wagon :2_thumbs_up_-_anima so lets hope for some nice weather. The wagon will be in the showfield, hopefully some of you can make it.
I certainly would love to drive our 67 Country Squire to the Carlisle Car Show. However, I sustained a serious knee injury in mid February which led to knee reconstruction surgery last Tuesday. I should be up and walking without crutches some time next week. Hopefully I can get back on finishing the wagon and get it into some local shows and cruises.
