This looks like a very nice, original '66 Vista Cruiser. It seems rare, nowadays, to see one of these that hasn't been customized in some way. Still has its original 330 V-8 and 2-speed Jetaway transmission. https://www.hemmings.com/auction/19...99a574dbd8a9c33bbd81b72a1776f160abf668b401eb5 Among his many photos is a 7-minute video where he goes for a ride, and it's pretty cool. You want to take a ride in a '66 Vista Cruiser? Here's your chance. I do have a question. In the video, when he's driving down a straight road, the steering wheel is not centered. The two-spokes are at about 10:30 and 4:30, not 9 and 3, which I believe is called the "clear view" position and is what it should be. My question is, is this an indication of a problem with the steering, or is it just that the wheel was not centered the last time the front end was aligned? He doesn't seem to have any issues steering the car, and the steering doesn't seem loose. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. He's going straight, but the wheel is not centered. This would drive me crazy when driving the car.
If the alignment's correct, the wheel needs to get pulled and placed back on properly. The steering gear was probably replaced or retro-fitted with a variable-ratio box. However, if that milage is genuine, that steering gear shouldn't have needed replacing because of wear. So, who knows
No third row seat to take advantage of vista windows. SSII wheels were not available until 1968, but do look nice.
