1966 Chrysler Town & Country | eBay Super clean car - Looks like original interior? Don't care for the color, it's a bit boring "old man" but it is what it is. Starting at 12,000, wonder what his reserve is? A lot of work has been done to this wagon.
Obtaining a title does not cost very much. Listing says no A/C, but the compressor is there so probably just needing a recharge.
If that's the case, why didn't the seller proceed in doing so, therefore assuring a successful sale for decent money? In some states, they don't allow retroactive title application. I'm betting, it's also the situation here
It's allowed in CA and costs around $200.00. This car comes from CA (Long Beach) so you are absolutely right, seller SHOULD obtain a title.
Well I asked Paul and he said as long as you have a signed Bill Of Sale, should be no trouble getting a new title anywhere. So the man sez.
As of right now, there hasn't been even one bid cast. If he wants a bid whatsoever before Sunday's deadline, he'd better start going through the process of fetching that no trouble title
Registering a non-titled vehicle varies by state and the rules may differ depending on the year of the vehicle. Some states will issue a title with proper documentation, some will only issue a registration, and others may require a bonded title. In any case, if the seller can obtain a title for $200, I would consider it money well spent. It will increase the number of potential buyers and probably pay back the expense.
Here in New Jersey you cannot get a title unless you have a title. One trick some guys I know have used is that Vermont will register a car and give you a license plate without a title and you do not need to have an address in the state or live there. People that live here in New Jersey have old classic vehicles registered in Vermont with a Vermont license plate. One time I went to look at a Honda Z 50 minibike that was for sale, and when I got there, I saw the Vermont plate and knew he did not have a title
Interesting! Here in CA the rules are pretty liberal regarding obtaining a title.. That being said, seller is shooting himself in the foot by not getting one. No bids on this thing and it's got a little over a day to go.
He's owned it 12 years without a title ! Really........ I've sold cars on Ebay over the years. And they never used to let you list a vehicle without a title. And getting a title is a Real pain in the Butt !! ( I put it mildly) In colorado, you have to get a Bonded title and jump thru a TON of hoops !!! And 12K isn't even meeting his reserve.
Ended 0 bids, something that got my attention were the heater hoses connected together and not to the heater core suggesting bigger issues. Something tells me there are more problems with this car for an unwary buyer.
