1963 Mercury Meteor Custom - Opinions needed

Well, folks, I thought I'd give you an update. I won't be buying the Meteor. The owner wasn't willing to negotiate on the price. When I factor in shipping, it's just too much money for me. So, the wagon search continues. Thanks for all the advice.

The 260 paired with the two-speed auto was pretty gutless even when new, whoever swapped it probably did the next owner a favor on reliability and parts availability.

 

I wasn't aware that the 260 was less reliable than all of the later small blocks. In that case, I guess swapping it out was a good thing
