That is certainly odd, especially with the Hemi hood scoop to move massive amounts of air.

I am not a green type person, but I really do like that Polo Green Metallic paint color.

Think the same. One reason the 1950s two tone paint schemes were popular was to break up that too much of one color look. IMO this 59 would look much better two toned with a lighter color. And why go to the trouble of replacing the flat head 6 with a slant 6 ? It still can't get out of it's own way when you take the grandkiddies for an ice cream.

Apparently the car originally came with a V8. I think the slant 6 is cool in concept, but it doesn't seem like it would be very much fun to drive. I think it needs a lot more wheel and tire. Only 155's up front?

I mean that I like that color. Not all at once, but I like the color. ;)

    Interesting.
I thought for sure it was tu-tone, with the roof a shade of grey. But in looking at all of the photos in the gallery it appears that it's all one color, so the "different color" effect must be an element of the paint itself. It looks different depending on the angle and the lighting.
I actually really like the color and I don't mind the entire car being painted one shade. I do agree that late 50's- early 60's multi color paint jobs suit these cars much better. But this one doesn't bother me at all.
I think the thing that does overdo it for me though is the black wheels. I think some chrome 5 spoke wheels would have changed the entire appearance for the better. Or even black steel wheels with chrome trim rings and chromed center caps or dog dishes would have been perfect. It would still look B.A. (which I'm sure is what the builder was going for) but it would be classy. And it would help keep the entire car from blending with the pavement.

If Quincy ME had been on in 1959 this would have made a perfect wagon for him. As it sits, it is a hair government issue for my taste, especially with the great color pallet Chrysler Corp had for ‘59. But a neat wagon none the less. I’d scrap the hood, and do a complimentary lighter green on top or body. Just me.

Well, now we know what a slant 6 powered 4 speed wagon of this flavor goes for these days.
