    Rev,

Glass and Sweeps are the very next thing so... we had better talk soon!

I sold a neat old Slot car for a fist full of cash so spent it all on parts and needed repairs. Ordered a NEW radiator from US Radiator. Won't be here for another week at least. But it's finally coming.

Also purchased a new set of mirrors!
Probably doesn't seem like much... but I was flying blind with only that little peep mirror and mounting one on the other side would have been impossible.
Besides... I have loved Talbot style sports car mirrors since 1968 when I saw them being sold in the back of a Car & Driver mag. Now.... a hundred years later, I have a set!
They'll look better when they get dirty.

Also installed a fan above the rear window glass a couple weeks ago. But needed a switch to control it.
    Well, here it is:
The switch is a repop 1952 Ford Pickup heater fan switch. I picked it because it has a built in resistor providing two speeds to control the fan.

Here is the switch installed on the dash in a blank panel.
Tried to get it balanced with the heater/fan switch on the other side. But can see it's about 1/4 higher than the others. Oh well.
Still fighting ignition switch problems and soon as the garage warms up some from the current 29 degrees it was when I finally turned off the lights... I plan to get back under the dash and see what is shorting out or what I connected wrong.
But for now, the car starts, stops, lights go on and the heater works. Plus... I have tunes! That's good enough.:thumbs2:

I sure enjoy watching your progress. Very nice ride.. back fan for glass is an excellent idea. Picked up a fan myself for the same reason. In our climates with the moisture and the cold it is very necessary. Good job.

73super, glad to hear from you! Indeed... I drove around all day yesterday and all my windows stayed clear just from the fan moving air around. I love it!

    Got a UPS package today:

Yup, got my new radiator! Been wanting one for 6 months now and here it is!
Only problem is... I am down with a head cold. I HATE being sick! :slap:

Since I'm so excited about this, that I just might tank up on Dayquil and Tylenol...(not to mention a shot of Jack) and put that darned thing in this afternoon.
Provided the temp gets higher than the 32 degrees it is right now.
Otherwise, it waits till the weekend.

I really enjoyed getting "gifts" in the mail like this. It gives you motivation to get one more thing marked off the checklist. Keep up the great work and I hope you get to feeling better! :thumbs2:

Not quite a "gift" but I get your point. No... I've been saving and working toward paying the full price for a new cooling unit from U.S. Radiator for the last 6 months.

Oh beleive me, I totally get that it wasn't a "gift". Finding parts is a challenge in it's self and when you do find them be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them. It makes all the sacrafice well worth it when you're driving down the road and you see nothing but thumbs up!

Jairus: For heaven's sake, rethink the Dayquil and Tylenol combo! Be careful when you take those combo drugs like Dayquil. Most, if not all, contain Tylenol (acetaminophen, aka Paracetamol). Add anything else containing acetaminophen, and acute liver failure can be the immediate result. It doesn't always take much above the therapeutic dose, either. More than one person has died from mixing OTC meds with acetainophen, and the only way to save them is an immediate liver transplant. Not that many are lucky enough to find a compatible liver in time.

    got it! NO Tylenol.
Not really mixing anything since the Dayquil and Nyquil are taking care of everything for me. Following directions plus orange juice and multi-vitamins. And eating good of course.

Rev, the problem is bad enough the Health Canada has been debating pull all the combination medications off the market. It is too easy to overdose on acetaminophen. The problem is that it takes years for your liver to metabolize it, so it accumulates. There is a reason I try to take aspirin based pain killers. Harder on the stomach, but that is treatable. With my shoulder problems, I take a LOT of pain killers while I wait for surgery number 4 on the right shoulder.

    Thank you!

Still lots of work to do to her, but at least I can check off another problem from the list: GOT THE NEW RADIATOR IN!!!!

Woke up this morning feeling better than normal and decided that if I still felt great after church I'd give the swap a chance.
Two hours after lunch, she is up to full pressure and temp with NO LEAKS. Plus the heater works way more efficiently as does the quick warm up.
    Jairus is VERY happy! :dancing:

Door glass is next on the agenda slated for two weeks away so stay tuned.
