Seller state this is a SEMA show car, mild custom. https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/cto/d/naples-1958-chevy-nomad-sedan-delivery/7433069600.html
I sort of take offense to the seller including the name 'Nomad' in the description of this vehicle. Plain and simple, it's a custom 1958 Chevrolet sedan delivery. And this one doesn't even have any 1958 Nomad trim added, which if it were, I wouldn't then object to the Nomad name being used. THIS is a 1958 Nomad: There were NO 2-door Nomads from the factory for the 1958 model year, although THIS builder did a pretty good job approximating one:
1958 Nomads are all 4 door, windowed wagons. There are 2 door Yeoman wagons. There are also 2 door windowed as well as enclosed sedan deliveries. To my knowledge, sedan deliveries were issued with Delray trim.
58 is one of my favorite cars. My parents had a 58 Belair when I was born so it was the first car I ever laid eyes on. For some reason always just out of reach…hopefully I’ll find my deal on one in the next few years. That 2 door nomad creation is very well done. Looks great!
As much as I like originality, that '58 "Nomad" above does look great. If only Chevrolet could have made one like it. That said, I had a '58 Nomad Wagon and I always wanted to get a 2-Dr Wagon like some of you all have and bolt my Nomad parts onto it. It would have been a lot more simple to do, but it sure would not had been as nice as the one above. He even made the special post-less door along with the Nomad-like curved door glass. By the way, I did end up with a 2-Dr Nomad Wagon. I bought a '56, lol.
