Bid to $41,000 on 1/21/24, no sale. wow seems like a strong price to turn down.

I guess they were expecting north of $52,000. Well my dad used to say $#|+ in one hand and wish in the other see which fills up first. I just don’t understand these people when the market makes it loud and clear what your car is worth, you add $10 k and grouse about how dumb people are. Oh well. I too agree Mark I think $41,000 was a pretty tempting offer. Not the most popular Dodge, it ain’t a ‘59, plus with his modifications his audience further shrinks. I know we’ve beat this horse on here, but people do a lot of changes and expect someone should make them whole on their taste and investment. I’m never that lucky.

I agree with the 'overpriced' assessment.
Some sellers make the mistake of ignoring what the 'market' says - a perfect case, here.

If I had talked to the seller before the auction, I would have told him he'd be lucky to get into the $30k range. These older, early 50's Chrysler products are just not THAT popular for collectors.

Especially since the generation that grew up with them is dying off in droves!

The wheels, alternator and electronic ignition updates are still reversable. At least, he took care to not start butchering anywhere where an appraisement as an investment would no longer be possible.
Sooner or later, market forces should eventually influence these eutopian expectations of his. If he doesen't find a sucker, either he'll have to let it go for what he can get or end up sitting on it. He'll have to realize that he can't take it with him, when he kicks
