Looks like a fun and exciting trip. So nice to a bubble and g body that will not be turned into a donk or low rider. Good to see something like this preserved. Do they have one in the Olds museum already? You really don't have enough Oldsmobiles now though. How about some trading. I'd sure like to have the GTO, and my family has a '66 98, '68 Delmont coupe, '70 Toronado, and '82 98 coupe.

Denny, that's the secret to making it easy I think. Having some where on the web where you host pictures. :tiphat:

Thanks guys. I know the copy and paste part. I just can't figure out how to add more photos to one thread at once. Sometime I will have to go play someplace and see what happens. As if I don't already kill enough time on this toy.

Congrats on the new car man. I've been following the story and am glad to see it come home with you to Texas.

Really enjoyed all of the travel pics. The road trips with your family are the ones that you will always remember. Never miss an oportunity to do that type of thing. Great story.

The pics of the two Olds in the driveway are so cool. I love it! Now you have two Ponchos in the garage and two Olds in the driveway. Just the way the Lord intended. And as a bonus, they all have the propper number of cylinders (and haviing had seat time in my Buddy's GXP I won't give any grief about the wife's car being wrong wheel drive ;))

Can't wait to see the next chapter for "Big Tex"

A late response, took me a LONG time to read it, look at the pictures, and try to put all the places into perspective. Well written and the photos really help.

Mike, you and your family got a great wagon, but what you got was an incredible gift. To be able to spend that quality time with your Dad on an adventure to last a lifetime for both he, you and your family, is something that money can not buy.

I only wish I had had the opportunity to do something like this with my Dad before he passed. Reading your thread brought back so many memories of the times we did have together and I can't thank you enough for the details.

Enjoy that wagon. You'll find it is not perfect, nothing ever is and you anticipated that, but it is more than just a neat wagon for you to bring to perfection. It is a reflection of your passion for wagons and cars in general and a sharing of that with the most important man in your life.

    Good on you!!!!!

Thanks for the reply and the thoughts. And yes, am glad Dad and I get to do stuff like this together. He also came with my to LA when we got the 79 Electra in 2005, and we drove that through Vegas and then through a New Mexico snowstorm on the way back to Austin. Alway enjoy the road trips with my Dad!

Awesome job with the pics and descriptions. Getting a new ride and taking a long road trip is great but, spending time with your dad like this makes it priceless. Congrats on the new ride.

Great job with the presentation, Mike! I, like Saf, wish I would have done more of those kinds of things with my dad when he was still around. What a great trip and what's a road trip without a scare or two!?
NICE wagon that performed perfectly though the entire trip. I especially like the two Olds twins! You are a lucky guy in many ways....an understanding wife, an adventuresome dad and some GREAT cars! Thanks for the trip, pal...it was fun!(y)
