    89 Caprice 454 & more REDUCED to $1000!

This wagon was for sale awhile back (for less money) and I almost bought it but he took it off the market. I find this car interesting and wouldn't mind playing with it but I have too much in my 96 Cappy now. Someone should jump this car....he will take less....

I have a feeling about this car. First, it looks solid and rust free. Secondly, I think with a little work and not too much money it could be quite a wagon. I wish I had some extra cash....if I did it would be sitting here.

Even though I hate the colour, it does look good in tan with out wood:yup:. The centerlines go with the clean soft flow but to me the hood scoop just is'nt rite. And you'd never see a TV ever in one of my cars:disagree:

    Love the sunroof!

Yup...it's a hodge podge right now, Tedy, but I can see where the guy wanted to go with this wagon and never got there. And...yeah...that scoop has to go. This is a modded car and there are many things about it that aren't correct for the year and model. The TV is fine in this modded car. I would like to have it and do a few of my own mods along with the one's already done. Although I like period correct cars I still like this one with the mods and where it could end up. I think you would like it when I was done with it.

I could see myself finishing that project (with some help). The guy seems very reasonable with the price, too. I like the Roadmaster seats and the moonroof. (got a moonroof in my Focus and I love it). Never have been too fond of Centerline wheels. I like spokes.

If I was looking right now, I'd probably give this one a second look......

I love it. With a little work (and a pinstripe to break up the tan), that could be a fun cruiser. How modded is the motor? Or is it just stock? I ought to E-mail the guy about it, but how would I get it to Indiana? Anyone have his E-mail?

Gas mileage will suck for a DD, DR. But...I DO like this rig. You don't get much now days for a grand. I'd love to do a number on that.

If this was not 12 hours away from me, it would probably be in my driveway right now. It would be kinda hard for me to get it back to Illinois, since I do not have a trailer nor something to pull that kinda weight with. At least if it was driveable, I could drive it back. Why are cars this nice no where to be found in Illinois (probably rust). To me, everything is done tastefully, except I don't like the hood scoop. And for only a $1000, what can you buy today for $1000?

We are on the same page, pari. If it was a driver it would have been here first. But then...it would have sold long ago for more money as a driver. I don't think it will look great when you get there but I think it wouldn't take much to get it where you want it. Like you, pari...if it wasn't so far away I would go get it and yank it home. Hey, pari....it really doesn't cost too much to rent a Uhaul car hauler one way.(y)

That would be a cool wagon finished with a color change and a cowl hood not a dodge truck scoop!

As much as I would love to go and get this, once I would pay for gas to get there, rental of a car hauler, and gas for both my car and the car hauler on the way back, it would end up costing more money than I would be willing to pay for a project. A running driving car, maybe. Even if I were to buy it, I have no garage space, and it would have to sit outside (not that that is a deal breaker though). For someone that is closer, this is one heck of a deal.

Yeah...I agree...it's a deal. But expensive to get home. I'm 16 hours away. I swear, even if it was half the distance closer to me I would go get it. GN would change the color. I would not. From here the paint looks great on that car and I don't mind the color with wood delete. It would make a great sleeper. And I would have fun finishing that interior staying with the direction the guy was taking. Why do all the deals have to be so far away!?

I was thinking, too, about getting it running and driving it home. It is sitting at a storage unit so I figure it could be worked on there or at the guys house. If all it needs really IS the tranny lines and the intake/carb and a few odds & ends I could bring a friend and probably get it on the road. But, in thinking about it...even THAT would be an expensive trip... either flying two of us in OR driving there and bringing 2 cars back. No matter how I cut it the trip to get that car is expensive.

Those are exactly my thoughts man. Expensive to drive, expensive to fly, expensive to tow home, can't even drive it back until it is completed ect. As good as this would look sitting next to the Parisienne and the Crown Victoria, it just no longer becomes that good of a deal with the transportation costs. As for the tan, without the wood it actually does not look that bad. I am not the biggest fan of tan, but I kinda like this one. The paint looks nice and shines up well, so I would just leave well enough alone.
