There's some serious fade on the fake wood trim but the car as a whole looks real good. Nice leather and the interior isn't beat up at all. I'm not sure if they'll get a price too much higher than is already bid.

I agree, TB...the price is up there for this seller. They never know anything about the cars they sell and can't answer questions properly.

Probably a good reason for the relatively high price on this car so far is the alloy wheels. Very rare for this car. Usually came on Chrysler Cordobas and Dodge Miradas..... The wheels themselves are very rare.....

This LeBaron has some of my favorite leather seats in it. Such a simple, beautiful design. Most of these seem to have a plainer, standard interior.
    I like this one a lot! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Yeah....I like those pillow look seats too! And the wheels. I like these cars but I don't trust the seller to know anything. Sure LOOKS like a winner. Price is getting up there though.

We think alike Krash. The wheels were the first thing I noticed and thought to myself the same think. Also........They did that interior right when they built them things. Sharp!

WHAT!?!? This LeBaron sold for $6260!!:yikes:

Did I miss the gold bars in the cargo area??? It is a donated car!
The owner of this "charity" car lot must be doing cart wheels down main street!!

That wagon has every option offered. 1981 was the last year offered too thus low production. The price didn't surprise me. While it wasn't a bargain, the buyer can write off the expense on next years taxes too.

I'm not knocking the car. As you know, TMG, I like these wagons. I've looked at several recently and they were not anywhere near $6K. I looked at some nice ones that were less than half this price. I also have a big problem with the seller. They give little info on their inventory and don't even test them out except to see if they start. It is beyond me how people can throw money at a car on eBay knowing nothing about its condition. I have dealt with this seller in the past and they take a totally non-commital stance. If you want to know anything about their cars you have to go look. That's not an option for most buyers. I just find it hard to believe that, in this case, someone donated a cherry wagon rather than selling it or giving it to a family member and then there were several bidders that live close enough to this lot that they were able to inspect the car and then bid against each other up to $6200 plus. I like the car. But I don't like it for $6260. If I went and inspected it and, indeed it IS a REAL cherry, I would pay maybe $4200. TOPS. My feeling is that it's a $3000 car. Or less.

I too am not a fan of sellers who are unwilling to do what I consider their part in the equation and provide a fair and complete assessment of the vehicle or whatever they are selling. It makes the point that they are only in it for as much dollars as they can squeeze out of the buying public and do not care about reputation, providing quality product, and making sure the buyer is getting a fair shake.

I won't deal with these types of venders. If they aren't willing to provide me with the information then as far as I am concerned it is because they know it isn't potentially going to be good news and they don't care, they only want to suck as much money out of the deal as they can.

That's my personal take on it, and I agree with Fox, if you have to take the gamble without seeing the car then it should be worth a lot less than one you can touch and feel and drive, or get an honest opinion from someone who has.

In the case of this seller, Cars For Causes, I can understand their position on what they provide and what information they allow. They're probably one of the largest 'Charity' car sellers in California. Since all the money gets donated to various Charity causes, they are not in a position to afford any legal repercussions if someone claims a vehicle was misrepresented - hence the very detailed disclaimers on their website.

With their stance, I think they would prefer local buyers who can actually see the vehicle......

Unfortunately, if you can't deal with their limitations, you'll just have to shop elsewhere......

Yep, you are probably right K-K. In this case I think it would be helpful if they were to note that the preference is to sell locally so the purchaser can evaluate the car on their own - or to offer the services of a local firm to do an evaluation of the car for potential buyers and provide that contact info. That would go a long way. I suspect too, given it is a charitable effort, that the buyer was possibly thinking as much about helping out the charity as they were about buying the car. Just an assumption on my part of course. Regardless, lets hope the buyer joins the forums and is happy with the car.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Cars for Causes. Has a nice ring, no? I wonder what percentage of the profit goes to these "causes" and what the "causes" are? I would dearly LOVE to follow the money in this "charitable" venture.
