If you don't mind the inconvenience of a 2-door wagon, this would make a pretty good around-town car (as long as you don't need A/C...)

I'd put some 14-15" wheels and wider tires on it, a stereo, some nicer slip-on seat covers......and enjoy the approx. 22mpg.....

I drove and worked on a car like this for a friend's friend some years back. It really was a gutless wonder above 55MPH and getting every little thing to work right on the carb and emissions system was a complete pain in the rear. This would have to be a car you'd really want to own and be a fan of.

I’m going to watch this one. I like these, but every nice one I’ve seen lately is being held captive by some crazy person who thinks it’s worth a gazillion dollars. Cheapest nice one I ever saw recently was at Carlisle and the guy wanted $13,000 for it. The online dealers want almost $20,000 for these things and it just doesn’t compute to me. They are cool, but not that cool.

Agree, I like both Fords and small wagons and still only come up with maybe $6500 worth of coolness here.

Those were great little wagons. I always wanted a late ‘80’s Lynx wagon.

Back in 1996 I bought a brand new leftover 1995 escort wagon. Was fully loaded…power windows and locks (rare on them)… still miss it to this day
