1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Fiesta Wagon for sale on BaT Auctions - ending March 12 (Lot #100,770) | Bring a Trailer
If that’s your dream car I think this was well bought. Just some minor things to do, but a very nice, and appealing car as it sits. You don’t see these pop up very often and you won’t likely park next to another one at your Saturday cars and coffee.
I love how those cars had a "COLD" light along with the "HOT" light. I also like the shift quadrant "PNDSLR" with the reverse at the far right. Definitely indicative of the Hydramatic transmission on these cars. The new-for-'64 full-size Jetstar 88, however, used the F-85 engine, drivetrain, and brakes, and it came with the new-for'64 2-speed Jetaway (don't call it a Powerglide!) transmission that had the more modern quadrant "PRNDL." That four-way flasher below the dash has to be aftermarket as those didn't start appearing on Oldsmobiles until 1967. They became mandatory by law starting with the '68 model year. I thought it a little wrong that he had to gun the engine to keep it running in the cold start video. You really shouldn't rev a cold engine, at least I've always been told. If it won't stay running after the cold start, it probably needs a choke adjustment. I love how even the power antenna works.
