I don't doubt it. I spent $92 on groceries, and I feel totally ripped off. I was able to carry the bags and six-pack in, and could've carried double.

Amen. Certainly pound for pound the Mercury was a much better buy, plus, I mean really?

"Possibly the most desirable collector car ever produced by the Big Three in the latter half of the 20th Century. Gentlemen, I present for your consideration the 1977 Chevrolet Chevette." Said no one, ever. :(

    :rofl2:
We have a family friend that is a jokester. He had a Chevette for years. He always told people he had a "Vette"
Clearly omitting the fact that it was a CHE-vette, not a COR-vette.
It's always the first thing I think of when I see one of these.

I follow a number of Wagoneer folks on some of the social medias. There have been a number of 100K+ sales over the past few years, but I don't think they have been highly publicized.

I've concluded that BAT could be renamed "Is There A Crazy Person Who Lives Near Me With Money To Burn". If there's a couple crazy people who live close to the seller of a car on BAT with money to burn, who really, really, really *really* want a particular car, the car will be bid to crazy prices. The same car in a different state or province will not be bid to equally crazy prices if there are fewer people with money to burn. Sounds obvious, but it's true. I suspect the price that a car will be bid to depends mostly (not the only reason, but mostly) on where the car is located.

Here's a 1993 Mustang with 44k km. (~25.5k miles), not a notchback, for $CDN 35k (~$US 25.5k). Too far away to attract the same crazy prices, is my guess.

Another '93, 67k miles, also not a notchback, $US 34,900, Westville, NJ. Getting up in price, but not $US 40k.

    https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=687752288&allListingType=all-cars&city=Ogdensburg&endYear=1993&isNewSearch=false&makeCodeList=FORD&marketExtension=include&modelCodeList=MUST&numRecords=24&referrer=/cars-for-sale/all-cars/ford/mustang/ogdensburg-ny?endYear=1993&isNewSearch=false&marketExtension=include&numRecords=24&searchRadius=500&sortBy=relevance&startYear=1989&transmissionCodes=MAN&trimCodeList=MUST%7CLX&zip=13669&searchRadius=500&sortBy=relevance&startYear=1989&state=NY&transmissionCodes=MAN&trimCodeList=MUST|LX&zip=13669&clickType=listing

An '89, "believed" 12.5k miles, Lutz FL, $US 35k miles.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2760215716...55-0&campid=5337650957&customid=&toolid=10049

I think if people were really looking for a particular car, they could find it elsewhere without getting caught up in crazy bidding wars on BAT.
