This car has apparently been all over God's green earth. It was up for sale at the recent Mecum auction in Kissimmee, but it didn't sell after reaching a bid of $15,000.

To my amazement, I discovered this car sitting in a parking lot not 10 minutes from me. I stopped and took photos. I have to say that I think $15,000 is excellent money for this car. The seller should have taken it.

The car as sitting is sad. It is in a parking lot of an auto shop that caters to collector cars. I was driving by about 10:30 this morning doing errands, and I did a double-take when I passed by.

The car is not being tended to. The shop was closed, but the car is wide open. Unlocked, and the rear window is up even though we had two inches snow yesterday and four more inches are expected two days from now. There is actually snow in the car behind the third seat. Not a good way to care for a car that you want more than $15k for.

Obviously whoever tried to sell it in Florida two weeks ago wasted no time in getting it back up here to southeastern Michigan.

Note the snow inside the car.

You are probably right, he should have taken the 15 grand and ran. I never understood why someone felt they needed a tachometer in a vehicle like this. Is it because he needs it to show him when to bang third gear on his quarter mile strip? I guess the keys are in the car? I see the zip tie around the column. Pretty crazy

What’s with that battery being on a 45° angle?

I wondered about that about the battery. Looks like it was just thrown in the there.

    Another view of it.

Batteries in this body style can be a pain in the rear to get in and out and I'm sure they had to disconnect it so it is probably just laziness.

Presuming the tray didn't rot away...
