Wow, Wowwy, wow ! A bit light on photos but appears to be one sweet wagon, it even has the 383. I do not know if Dodge and Mercury considered themselves to be in direct competition but this teenager of the 60s always thought they were. Maybe it had to do the local dealerships. Anyway, in my dream collection this Monaco is parked next to a Colony Park wagon - same dark blue color as McGarrett's 68 4dr Park Lane Brougham (even the car names were cooler then). A sad note. Remember seeing a video of Pennsylvania Demo Derbies years ago. Big Mopars, especially wagons, seemed to a weapon of choice. A waste.
Not only a waste. I'd go as far as to call it a desecration of our heritage What they enjoy are only false freedoms
Wow! I love it. 26K doesn't seem too outrageous from a dealer. You certainly can't restore one for that.
The odometer on this car has almost definitely rolled over. The LF door panel shows goodly wear, and the sun visors have obviously seen a lot of use. There is a lot of elbow wear on the drivers door. Also, note that the rear quarters and tailgate don't match the rest of the car. The dealer that has it claims it's original, but it's had a lot of obvious repairs already, and needs about a $7000 respray to be nice. Hood paint is worn through a few places, and there are bald spots on the roof. All of the rear carpet or linoleum is missing in the wagon/third seat area. NO WAY it's worth the $25k they're asking... $14,500 maybe, plus the needed work to bring it up to a Class 2 that might be worth 25. Don't really know how it runs or how tight the steering and suspension is. Dealer wouldn't answer questions about the AC, either.
