I think I'd feel cheated at the price with as dirty as it is and little things wrong with it - at least vacuum it out and put the rearview mirror back on! He says it's a 350 but I didn't think they offered the Pontiac 350 in 1978...

His list of trades he'll accept gave me a chuckle.

Absolutely delusional. Since you mentioned it, I’m not going on my rant 103 about vacuuming and cleaning. But come on man. Really?

    I'd say two zeros.

The 305/2 bbl was standard. The 350 with 4 bbl was an option.

    From the '78 Pontiac brochure.

Seller must have seen the ad on my Way-Back Machine from the dealer who bought it from me. I sold it for $2,700. He replaced the wood grain Di-Noc and put it up for $14k. Don't know what it actually sold for though.

On this one, he says $14,000 OBO.

My best offer is nothing. Wouldn't want it. Too much wrong on the interior. But $1,700 might be a deal to someone...... My interior was A LOT better than this.

Yeah but no 350 Pontiac engines were cast for the entire 1978 model year. Last cars I know you could get one in were 1977 models (the year of the 4 division 350s that angered customers and started lawsuit city). Just because the advertising literature says "350 4bbl v8" doesn't mean it would necessarily be a "Pontiac 350 4bbl v8." The factory service manuals only list the Buick 350, Olds 350, and Chevy 350 motors as being available in ANY Pontiac for 1978 - no Pontiac 350 v8. Either it's not the correct\original engine or it's a 400 (cruise control diaphragm is right where it needs to be for a traditional Pontiac v8 and not even close to where a 301 would have it). It's also got the really rare R4 compressor setup for a traditional Pontiac v8 as very few cars I've seen came with them compared to the A6 (not that you would *want* an R4 over an A6...).

Still doesn't change the "WTF" aspect of the price for a car that is clearly dirty and has quite a few issues with it that make the justification of that price difficult.

I would say sweaty buttocks, and dirty feet would about cover the odors.

"Super nasty" could pretty much apply to the entire car.

I missed this distinction in my response. Yes, while a 350 could have been had in a '78 Pontiac, it was not a Pontiac engine.

Whenever I see this much dirt buildup on the steering wheel I often have to wonder does anybody wash their hands? This has never happened to any vehicle I have ever owned or driven. What do they want again? 14k? Sign me up! Where do I pay?
