221,269 miles and "It was running until we started to move it and a mouse nest caught on fire on top of the motor," Think the story is better than the car at this point.

I actually call BS. Unless there is still evidence of a mouse nest on the engine somewhere, the engine would have to be running a lot longer than just "when we started to move it" for it to catch fire. This could have happened, but it kind of sounds like a potential coverup story for a deeper electrical issue. Plus, no pics of the engine or affected area, which leads me to wonder how bad the fire was.

Whata beefing about it says it should be an easy fix. Don’t you believe him?

Oh, it could be an easy fix and I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad car, I just find the story a bit odd. They must have had it running for a long time for that to happen. Even if there was a mouse nest right on the exhaust manifold it would have taken more time than just the time it would take to move it for it to catch fire.

Right. Sitting for a year and some odd time. You didn’t open the hood to see even if the battery cables were not corroded over? I too think his story is a bit specious.

If there's any lick of truth to this story, the mice would have chewed the wires and caused a short way before a nest would ever catch fire. No pun intended, but in regards to the suspicious mouse story: where there's smoke, there's fire.
