Too many inconsistencies for the price. Rust, wear, paint issues, interior flaws, touchups, hubcaps not correct. Lots of things might be hidden after unveiling that cloak. On the other hand, still one of a kind and might be worth the gamble.

Personally, I'd want to see it in person if I were serious about it. But it is highly desirable, great colors, loaded up with options, one year only front end, and these simply don't come around often anymore.

This is true, I google search these cars quite frequently and all that ever seems to come up are YouTube videos of people showing their car off. They are rarely for sale. People who have them tend to keep them. It’s almost like you have to wait for someone to die to get one!

This is really surprising. I’m kinda shocked how low we are still sitting. I’m still thinking we’re gonna have a feeding frenzy at the end.

I was going to bid on it but decided at the last minute not to. After studying the pictures even more that rust under the vinyl top would have really bothered me. If you pull the top off you probably would have to take the glass out of the car. I just couldn’t see spending 30,000 and then having to do all of that work. The car presents very well but does have some serious issues that need to be addressed

This car was far from perfect and even worse then most of you have stated

    examine the pictures very closely.

Front carpet is shredded on drivers side, edge of the dash on left side has been busted and repaired, drivers seat has extensive wear.

Under the hood, Hood has overspray on bottom side of it, silver bolts everywhere that should be black, core support has been rattle canned, right hood hinge spring is mounted upside down

    Body exterior

look closely at the lower body lines. Especially the right front fender. Very unstraight lines, rust hole through the right 1/4 right under the window lip.

if this truly was sold someone is gonna be a very unhappy person once it arrives at their house

Well doggies as Jed used to say. I sure was wrong on that one. I guess there were a lot of us on here that had our heads turned by a pretty face. I didn’t look that closely at the photos, as I had no intention of bidding on this car. It was a somewhat rare clamshell, optioned to the hilt, so 40 something seemed reasonable. I agree with Swanny if I had purchased this car, especially in the 40’s I would be a tad more than upset upon its arrival, with its apparent, as well a subtle foibles. I think the take away is that a true, well taken care of car with 35,000 miles is really a jewel. This car with everything as stated by the folks here brought into question the care it received, or the authenticity of a low mileage claim. Either way I think with like examples that we’ve seen it’s fair to say this car got punished in the market place.
