pretty cool 1936 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall for sale on BaT Auctions - ending August 8 (Lot #52,742) | Bring a Trailer
Were Chevy 6's called 'Stovebolt 6's' that far back? I thought that came along in the late 40's or early 50's when they brought out the famous overhead-valve 6......
The overhead valve 6 from the 50's is pretty much the same as the engine in the '36. Until they came out the with SBC in '55 that was the only engine they had for many years. They ran that design in slightly different configurations and displacements up until the late 80's or early 90's. I don't know when the stovebolt moniker came to be.
