    Actually I've pulled off the original woodgrain off my 76 with a heat gun. Came off very easy without any glue left except for the areas where the sun had burnt it on. ( Arizona car ). The sun burnt areas basically had to be blasted off. Yes this 75 would have probably gone really downhill in a few more years if the rust hadn't been addressed and it was exposed to the elements again on a daily basis.

    That vinyl helped trap in all that moisture, as soon as the rust broke through, accelerating the cancer spread

    That dent WAS NOT in that 1/4 a month ago. Apparently something has happened to it in that time. But a derby driver owns it so who knows what has happened.

    you can see the dent in the May 20 last picture you posted? It's hard to tell if it was as bad, but it was definitely there.
