    There's not much holding that front fender in place, taking a closer look. But, what would you expect, for a ninety nine cents car. The mechanicals are excellent, in those and they drive nice, though

    If you can confirm the front body structure is solid (inner fender aprons, firewall, radiator support, lower frame rails, etc....), then this might be a pretty inexpensive vehicle to run.

    Wondering about the paint. I notice the rear license plate frame is the same color as the car. Repaint?

    I've seen tie rod mount brackets rotted off of the struts on one of those, I still shudder at the thought.

    I had a 79 Rabbit fold in half one day when I hit the brakes. ‘Then they quit. Good thing it was late on empty roads....

    There is a reason I said Wow to this one. it is still here. At least in spirit.

    Audis of that era used those sheetmetal brackets also. When I worked at that VW scrapyard, back then, I soon quit counting how many replacements went over the counter
