prices are crazy out here https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/1964-chevy-nova-wagon/6352476151.html
It is California and that is a Nova wagon. Those fancy billet hood hinges probably cost more than my last car.
Don't know why these Chevy II / Nova wagons bring such big money. I've seen stock 6-cylinder examples in just 'average to good' shape bring over $10k. If you bought something like a mid-size Tempest / LeMans wagon, you would get a lot more, for a lot less. I like the Novas. I just think they're overpriced.
I bought a 1964 v8 auto one for 500 bucks. Sold it for 800 thought I made a killing on it but that was in 1981.
36 years, but it seems like yesterday, right Dan? LOL.......... We bought our first house in '81, and our two girls wouldn't be born for another 7 years.....
It seems like about 15-20 years ago these were still relatively affordable. Then they just exploded and you get examples like you see here. Fortunately the Falcon wagons are still priced realistically for the most part. I am not as familiar with the other GM small wagons of this era and where they sit in the market. You see them so infrequently it is hard to get a feel for what they go for.
Put a lot of work and money into this car, finishes seem top end, but really $36 grand it is a Nova! for that money there are a whole lot of better options than a souped up fancy Nova - at the end of the day you still have a NOVA
I like a Nova wagon just fine, though I think I do prefer the Falcons. But this seems way over priced in my opinion. It's a nice car to be sure, but $36,500? I wish the seller luck.
I think that sometimes owners put such a high price tag on a car because deep down inside they really don't want to get rid of it.
Very true. I have also seen a rise in the "Barrett-Jackson syndrome" in recent rears. Lots of classic vehicles are priced in the stratosphere due to the fact that a "similar" car sold at auction recently for ridiculous money.
