This dealer is about 8 minutes away from me but the price is to steep for me, looking in the $4,000 range. If I get a free weekend I will check it out in May sometime.

Correct. No A/C. Pr0bably why the mileage is so low. No one wanted to drive it in the summer.

The "vehicle details" at the top says automatic transmission, but the "vehicle options list" farther down says "6-speed manual." I don't think these cars were offered a with manual transmission, let alone a 6-speed one.

A lot of nice pictures in that ad. Too bad you can't enlarge any of them.

I noticed that if you right-click on any of the photos and then click on "view image," you get a larger version of the photo.

Here's the photo of the center of the dash, and you can make out that the ventilation system controls do not have an A/C setting.

That's a lot of $$$ for a 301 Powered low option Catalina, even if it is legit Mileage

What would you say its worth if its in really good shape? I could always throw a nice low ball # out there and see if he bites. It usually doesnt work but i bought a motorcycle for a steal one time which i still talk about to this day. The thing is you must walk away if they dont take it and move on.

It is a lot of money, but people don't price cars like this based on options. They're priced based on condition, and this certainly is a very-nice condition car. That said, however, the price is still way too high. On a good day, this car is worth maybe $4,000. It's a station wagon, and no one wants station wagons.

I agree with the $4000-$5000 value. I would say if it had power windows it would help the value a lot. Most people today do not want to wind up and down 4 windows. And that would be nessisary as this car does not have A/C.

If it had A/C, Pwr windows, and a 350 or 400 engine options the seller might get the asking price on this car. It does look to be in great condition.

Just to compare, my high option 350 powered 36,000 mile Catalina Safari was bought for $6000. But my car did need a headliner. and had 14,000 more miles on it.

Im going to try and take a look at this car next weekend. I really want a wagon with the wood sides so if I do make an offer it will be a one offer and walk away thing. The offer will be no where near the asking price but i will take it for a test ride and report back what i find. The no AC is a turnoff also with the hot summer months we get here. I have not been looking as much for a wagon as I was since my sons sports have really picked up and I decided to Coach his beaseball team. Thanks to all here who take the time and effort to post the wagons for sale, it really helps me out.

I couldn't agree more. By today's standards, the car is undriveable. It's an ornament that you park in the corner and look at. Unless you live in a winter climate and want to drive it in the winter time, it's going to sit because no one would want to take it on any kind of trip in warm weather. Too uncomfortable. In short, it's a nice car to look at but not to live with.

He started the auction at $200. He's gotten a couple of bidders on it and it's quickly up to the mid-$2000s. I hate to say it, but that's about what it's worth, perhaps a bit more. But for more than about $3,000 or $4,000, you can get good examples that DO have air-conditioning and other desirable options.

I put a couple $50 increase bids last night but now this morning it is above what i would pay, its not a car for this weather and i wouldnt pay more that $4000 tops. He probably has a reserve of $6000-$6500, if thats hit i would be suprised but many people are willing to overpay these days. Its easy to walk away if you stick to your max price.

I think the real killer is the lack of a third row
