I'm not the biggest fan of that color, but the car looks nice.

Avocado green. A 1970s appliance favorite.

There are a few issues. Like the extra and 'automatic' $495 dealer fee'. So the opening price is really 3500$. Looking at some of the body issues and whether or not it runs properly it might be a deal at that.

Very close to right. I (incorrectly) remembered the movie wagon being much darker in color.

Had a question pop in my mind yesterday when reading the ad....
Background: The '75 Country Squire had covered headlamps - a somewhat different front-end appearance than this non-wood LTD wagon. On the passenger car side for the big Fords in '75 going up the ladder, you had the (base) LTD, the LTD Brougham, then the top-of-the-line LTD Landau. Only the LTD Landau got the covered headlamps.

So, I was wondering, could you option-out the plain non-wood LTD wagon to have the covered headlamps?
    - The short answer is 'No'. you could equip it with a LTD Brougham-grade interior, but there was no option package to make basically a Squire without 'wood'.

Checking later years, through '78, I don't see any indication that this was possible, either.

Correct. From '75 to '78, the Country Squire had the LTD Landau front end with the base LTD interior (fairly fancy as it was). There were option packages to upgrade the interior to the LTD Brougham level ('75 & '76 only, I think) or to the LTD Landau Level (all 4 years). The "plain" LTD wagon, as you noted, could be upgraded to the Brougham level interior, but there was no option to upgrade it to the Landau interior, and no hideaway headlight option.

In fact, hidden headlights were never optional on any full sized Ford. They were standard equipment on certain sub-series from '68 through '70 (LTDs, LTD Broughams, Country Squires, and XLs) and from '75 through '78 (LTD Landaus and Country Squires). In almost 37 years of owning these cars, I've never encountered any source indicating they could be optioned on any other big Fords or deleted from those on which they were standard.

Yes, but they were standard equipment, not an option, and, from all sources I've seen, they were not an option on the Monterey or Meteor wagons.
