Looks real nice. Almost too nice for the price? $2,500 http://detroit.craigslist.org/search/cta?sort=date&query=1984 84 caprice wagon fresh L-82 corvette motor 0- miles no rust anywhere all power options work. New master cylinder (hydro-boost). New calipers pads and brake lines. needs a y-pipe, exhaust realitively new. New battery. Interior clean no rips in seats rear facing third seat.
I take it that it's not running yet if it needs a Y pipe and has O miles? I'd still want to see the car running and driving for 2500 bucks, something isn't right. If that pipe is all it needs why not finish it and get more money? It must of been a diesel if it has hydro-boost, you can put a real hairy cam in the engine and still have power brakes at least?
Not necessarily. Some people retrofit the hydroboost brake systems onto original vacuum assist cars. I also don't see any Diesel markings in the normal places that would indicate so. I was kind of scratching my head at the "needs a y-pipe, exhaust realitively new" comment though.
Sometimes deals do show up, I got my Mercury for $2,500 with a few issues (coolant was rusty and needed to be flushed, for one) but it looked great cosmetically except for some bubbling on the roof and under the taillight which I didn't notice upon purchase.
