Price is High, but not Ridiculous, This is a Ridiculous asking Price. An Almost all original 1965 Lemans GTO 6-cylinder 2-door HT for only $50,000.00

Heck its all original except for the Paint, The Wheels, and the GTO Hood and Emblems!!!!!

Those base wheel covers need to go - never liked the pie pan look.

 

I agree, but those are the 1 step up Delux full wheel covers, the base wheel covers would have been the Dog Dish's with out trim rings.

 

Looks like a really nice car.

 

Wonder why the Rally II wheels were so rarely seen on the full-size Pontiac wagons in the 1980s? They were everywhere in the 1970s. The brochures show them optional through at least 1985, but you are hardly ever see them - wire covers predominate. I like the Rally IIs so much better - very distinctively Pontiac. Here's one of the few 1980s Bing images I could find online.

 

It might be the 5X5 bolt pattern, I don't know when they stopped making the Large Bolt pattern Rally II's. I believe all the Pontiac wagons used the big bolt pattern. They also are very heavy wheels, they were attempting to get every last ounce out of the big cars in that time frame due to Mileage requirments.

 

The last Rally II wheel with the 5" bolt pattern for Pontiac wagons was offered in 1981. They came as the only ones that were 7" wide, the previous ones were only 6".

 

That makes sense - still, too bad.
