    But very few 47 year old cars have 32K miles - There has to be a story behind it...

    Props to the seller for the excellent pictures. (Otis Campbell, pay attention here!) Look closely at the right front marker light.........it seems to be out of line with the lines of the fender and the left light. Possible light hit to the front end and this did not get correctly repaired? The car certainly looks all original under the hood, except for maybe belts and hoses/clamps?

    There are no headrests, does this make it an early '68 production car? I think maybe after 12/67, all cars came with headrests standard? It does have the front seat shoulder belts that came along about the same time.

    Headrests were not mandatory for the '68 model year.

    Here it is, I thought Jan 1969 was the turning point. All cars sold after Jan 1 had to have head restraints. The following is from Wikipedia:


    "Optional head restraints began appearing on North American cars in the late 1960s,[citation needed] and were mandated by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in all new cars sold in the U.S. after 1 January 1969"

    So after early '69 production, they were on all cars sold in US. Optional on '68's.

    I know they were optional on the '67s as well, but I have never actually seen one in person.
