'63 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan on C/L - Rhode Island? Or Florida?

I really don't get C/L. They name the region as something that quite often you have to be a local to know. Seems like they don't care to name the location so that everyone in North America will know where it is. Probably one reason why C/L never took off in Canada.

Having said that, where's the Space Coast? Oregon? California? No, Florida! Of course! I thought they were referring to the Left Coast where the counter-culture still thrives.

So this car is somewhere in Florida. Maybe. The seller lists the car as being in Rhode Island. Who knows where it is? :rant:

Not a bad-looking '63. But $10,000 "as is"? Suppose the seller would like to tell us something more about the car?

Makes me think of The Great Spacecoaster, a kids TV show from the late 70s.

 

Looks nice from what we can see. Rhode Island is not large enough to have much space at their coast. Now living in Florida I do know that the Space Coast may be over on the east side around Titusville.
Seems like people placing these ads assume we all know where they are and don't give many directions.
Now I live on what some call the Nature Coast which is below the Big Bend area which is below the Panhandle which is is nowhere close to the Everglades, Gator Country or Mouse Land.
Still wherever the wagon is the surf must be up and no barns can be found for miles.

 

One thing that I've figured out: When you're viewing a CL ad, up at the top left of the ad, if you click the location, it will bring up craigslist for that location. Over on the right side of the next screen, it will list "nearby cl". You can usually figure out where it is by the locations listed under "nearby cl". For "space coast", Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, and Gainesville are some examples, so this is definitely Florida. However, the seller is obviously listing Rhode Island as his location. My guess is the seller is located in Rhode Island, marketing his wagon to retired folks in Florida (willing to aid in shipping, etc).

 

This is not a bug, it's a feature.

Craigslist was put in place for local people to sell things locally, just like the classified ads in your local paper. It was never meant to be a national selling forum, and it still isn't. That's why there's no national search function on the site (at least that I can find). You have to go to outside services to search all of craigslist.
