My buddy is selling this. He needs to raise funds to work on that Wagoneer I had sitting in my driveway... I can answer almost any question about it, and what I don't know, I can text him for the answer. Per Ad:Selling (begrudgingly) my 1985 Country Squire wagon. Clear Ohio title in hand. I bought this car back in 2013 at 125,540 miles with the intention of fully restoring it. I did start the process though there is still plenty to do. I immediately changed the oil when I bought it. I have done the following: Just changed the oil at 128.8k New tires & tie rods at 127k New starter & fuel filter done in Spring 2014 New heavy duty shocks all around (spring reinforced) New front brakes (pads, rotors & calipers) New spark plugs & wires, Motorcraft brand Attached a brand new Curt class III hitch receiver (not fully attached though...) Replaced tailgate with an OEM unrusted tailgate from a non-woody Ford I have extra parts that go with it, including non-rusted driver's side door, left rear passenger door (both from a gray Grand Marquis) and a right rear door (from a red Grand Marquis). I still have the original tailgate, and it goes with the car. Also have several oil filters, new rear brake shoes, a new thermostat, and other stuff. The guy I bought this car from completely redid the cooling system, including new hoses, radiator, water pump, thermostat, etc. He also installed a new Interstate battery. Car runs great. Starts every time. AC was converted to R134 but there's a leak in the line somewhere. Heat works well. I was told the rear main seal is bad, and so this does leak oil. In the just over 3,000 miles between oil changes I only ever had to add 2 qts of oil, and the trans fluid has never dropped. There is a coolant leak in the thermostat housing area. Never found out why but it does tend to drop a lot if it's not driven for awhile (though it never leaks more than what's in the upper hose and only leaks when not running). It's not pretty but it's fun to drive and a good project or daily driver. Interior is really nice, with velour seats and plush carpets. Has 3rd row seats in the back. More pictures will be posted soon. If you want to see it, please email me. To show me that you've read all this, please change your subject line to 1985 Truckster, or else I'll have to assume it's spam. No tire kickers or lowballers, please. I'm only selling this because I just bought a different toy and I need room. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/4925048529.html
For the money this seems like a great deal. As he says, not the prettiest, but a good, honest driver, and it would appear to be very well equipped, too. Wish I were closer. I would be interested.
Me too! The only thing that worries me is the main seal leak. Seems like I remember it was mentioned that it could be repaired at a shop for around $200 or so????????? Rest is minor.
