If the pictures reflect the condition of the car than it looks like a good project for someone. $500.00. http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/4917557615.html
There ya go, Bad Taten,,, affordable,, close,, not really a hard fix... Looks like a pretty decent wagon and especially for the money..... go for it !!!!!
We have not seen the entire car, but IMO yeah it could be the diamond in the ruff.....but you still have to see the rest of the car inside and out. But for $500, and I'm sure you could get it for les if you showed up with cash in hand waving........... 1,,who cares about the 351 Windsor motor, get a real Ford mill in that, like a 460/429/428, even a 390, or just stay home 2,,The gas tank strap is NOTHING, my 72 Beatoer had one tank strap missing when I bought it from a high school. It's basically just that, a strap! I blocked up the gas tank and took of the one I had ( Can't remember but I swear it was only 20 gage, not even 18 gage) . Took it to my at the time old boss/now new boss again shop and made 2 new ones out of 16 gage in no time at all...........how ever what a shop will want to rape you $ wise for a simple job could be another story........... IMO this could very well be a diamond in the ruff, but buyer needs MUCH more info and pics.
Hmm ... ... seems almost too good to be true! If the car is a good on the inside as it appears to look on the outside (from the limited pics provided) - and there is no severe rust rot issues lurking in the underbody - then this looks like a steal at $500!
If I were close and wanted an older Ford wagon, and this one looked as good from the other side I wouldn't worry about what the inside looked like for $500. I'd pull out $400 and wheel and deal.
This is one you really cannot lose on. There are certainly more than $500 worth of great parts there if the car is scrap, and I suspect that a bit of TLC would have this one looking fantastic.
