Kind of interesting that it's on the Volunteers of America website. Does this mean it was donated to them as a charitable contribution? You see these donate-your-car ads all the time in the newspaper.
Probably was donated. I got my wagon at a goodwill auto auction. They hold an auction every Saturday here in Cincinnati to sell off the cars they've been donated. Some of them are the ones they have worked on, but most are in "as-is" condition.
This one has been for sale a long time and no drop in price. I looked at it a month or so ago. The pics look good, in real life the exterior is not as nice. Paint was thin on the hood, passenger rear quarter was wrinkled and rusty. The second day I drove by it was pouring rain and the windows were half way down.
Prices on most of their stuff seems a bit high for 'no warranty' donated cars. I'm sure there are some good ones in the inventory, donated by altruistic citizens, but which ones are they? You can bet dollars to donuts, there's issues with a lot of them. These prices are approaching full retail. I guess you would make an offer.....
The VOA here in Columbus does an auction every other Saturday. But some of the cars have unrealistic reserves on them. I wonder about this Pontiac Michigan location, maybe they auction, maybe they don't, but $2600 for this wagon is about double what it's worth to me.
I like how they call almost everything in their inventory a station wagon...dodge caravan? Dodge Durango? Honda CRV?
