    Yeah, what CatModelT said....

Sometimes crazy things happen....i think the guy with the Caballero realized he was in over his head, that is why he offered it to the other forum members.....

Kev, next time you post something like that, picture us as the blues brothers in the elevator scene near the end, complete with a little "Tea for Two" playing in the background.....

We all share in your enthusiasm when you post something, almost like welcoming a new arrival to our large sometimes dysfunctional family........

Yeah Dude, all in fun:thumbs2:. I can completely understand not wanting to post the link....... lurkers and some members in the past (no names mentioned) have ripped a wagon out from under the feet of a member who was seriously interested.

But you could have posted at least one pic from the ad [IMG]........:D(y)

I agree. One picture is worth a 1000 of Tedy's elevator tunes. :biglaugh:

I saw the CL post for that wagon very soon after it was created. The car looked exceptionally clean, and the price was ridiculously low. That, plus the out of state plates, made me wonder if it was a scam. I contacted the seller the night it was listed, and the next morning he told me it was sold.

I don't like the rears of those wagons at all, but I would have bought this one at that price.

I 'went public' here with my deal on the 'Way Back Machine' only because there seemed be no interest in the wagon - from anybody, for over a year. So I thought I was safe...... It was first posted in this section in the summer of 2011, and I didn't go after it until October of 2012.

Sadly whether we are the buyer or seller now days no one can trust another. Even a small amount like $650 could be money lost or a wasted trip.

Unwritten rule in my book is if wagon is posted and member says "Look at what I am going to look at" it is pretty chicken$#*t in my book to buy from under another. My Roady I posted hoping someone here would buy because it was a decent enough deal and then when I sold my boat I decided to try and work a deal and posted that since no one seemed interested but you better believe if a member would have said they were making arraingments to go see it, I would have PM'd them and tell them if they pass let me know and probably ask if they passed was because it was not what it seemed. I would also do vise versa for any member here! Just my opinion. Now I will step off my soap box!

Wait till I get up on that soap box now. I'll swear they make them taller than they used to.
Dennis I do believe most members here are much like you. I also believe that most are as good as a handshake or their word on here.
It's just those few that mess everything up no matter where we go!
Now help me down. I'm getting light headed up here.:slap:

Well at least someone else saw it to confirm it was a beauty :)

Next time I'll just go ahead and post, even if I'm interested in it and what will be will be..

Ive been snookered before on a forum with a AMC Javelin deal.. I posted what I was picking up the next day and a
forum guy went to the seller with a $500 higher than asking price deal and the seller called me to say sorry, but if I wanted to bid higher I could have it.
I told him this isn't ebay and hung up on him)

Kev I believe I would wait until I'd make the deal before telling others. Then again if it were publically advertised I'd want other members to know I was interested so none would call themselves. Gets complicated!
Like here. There are many wagons listed everyday. If I wanted one of them I'd want other members to know I was trying to get it.
Before the internet I bought everything locally advertised in regular newspapers and those Thirfy Nickle papers. I lost out on several that I'd called about and a few I actually looked at and shook hands on. Money talks and sometimes another person shows up with even less, but it's cash, while you are getting yours.
I once told about the late model Ford convertible, 1964, my brother-in-law bought after I'd made a deal with the dealership the evening before. It was closing time so we shook hands. Next day another salesman sold it to my wife's brother, no one knowing about my deal. Things happen.
I lived thru all of those deals.

Coincidentally the old Ford garage became a sports car garage and I also missed a buy on a red, white, blue Javelin.

When I was offered the caballero I figured it would be too much for me and it's not really my thing. So I figured, first come first served...thats when Joe emailed me like an hour later. I know there were a few folks interested and I would go down the list if Joe wasn't interested. So, if I broke anyone's heart, please understand Joe made one hell of a gunslinger....

I don't think anyone could be mad the way you handled that deal. That one act alone makes you a stand up guy. I think we have more good people here than most other forums.

Sorry it didn't work out Kev, sounds like it was a nice wagon......from the mental picture I have in my head since you didn't post pictures and we had 2 days to think about what it was!:slap: :rofl2:

Just kidding around....but if it offends you fat tedy hacked my account and posted that! :D

I'm probably like you, I couldn't afford to fix it up like it deserves even though I'd loved to have that wagon. That's why I don't own a Nomad. Most of us are just happy the wagon went to a member.
    Yes you broke my heart!:(
