Another 'front cloth' rear vinyl' seat combo. I'd have to eliminate these from consideration on principle alone. The vinyl third seat in mine is OK because it's hidden most of the time....
I agree KK. Tacky, tacky, tacky. I noticed right away that the front bumper fillers need replaced (rear isn't pictured). From the looks of the wood, the car appears to maybe have been garage kept, but do the bumper fillers on these go to seed even in the garage?? Paint looks like it needs a good compound and wax. Maybe it was left out, at least part of it's life?
I don't know what the issue is with the urethane fillers. I suspect it's not just from sun exposure. I'm wondering if it has more to do with cold temperatures - getting brittle, then breaking. I don't recall seeing this problem down in SoCal.
Yeah, I don't know why they "cheapened" the look of these, especially with this being the cream of the crop full-size GM wagon for '84. Even the Caprice Estates that year had cloth even on the 3rd seat... at least my '85 Caprice Estate did - the 3rd seat was the same cloth as the front and middle seat. The '85 Caprice Estate on the other thread here has the cloth 3rd seat...
The third seats in the Chevy, Pontiac and Buick box wagons came stock with vinyl upholstery. The Olds came standard with matching cloth. I'm pretty sure that cloth would have been an option in the C-P-B's.
