This is different from a regular wagon but not exactly a hearse, I think, as it doesn't have a raised roof. Seller is asking $2,950 and says it has 108,000 miles on it. The ad says this wasn't used for carrying deceased humans. The backs of the front seats look worn in the same spot, so perhaps there was a platform in back at one time that rubbed up against the front seats. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4441449282.html Here is the ad text: "PRICE IS LOWERED TO HELP THE NEW BUYER (YOU?) "equipped with the small 302" ... as opposed to the large 302? Too bad the roofline isn't raised as it could make a nice sedan delivery. mike
Here's some useless knowledge that might benefit another perfectionist like myself.... Some of those "wear marks" on the plastic inserts seen on the seat backs and in the luggage area will come off with a magic eraser cleaning sponge. Won't do much for the hole in the vinyl. they also work great for removing heavy soil from leather or vinyl seats. After use, treat with regular leather/vinyl conditioner....you'd be surprised. My in-laws recently bought an 03 DeVille with about 40k miles. The interior is very light beige, what Cadillac called Oatmeal. The original owners never did much to clean the leather seats. After several hours, a couple of magic erasers, a bucket of Ivory soap, and a bottle of leather conditioner later......they couldn't believe it was the same car on the inside.
Back in 85, I got pulled over by an exact double of that wagon. I was a teenager in my 73 Cuda with a 360 4 speed and was taking off from the traffic lights kind of quick, but I would never go over the speed limit. It was the county coroner and he didn't like my "jack rabbit starts". Found out a few years later, he had no authority to pull me over and could have gotten him into trouble.
A few years back, one of the shows I was working on had an 89 similar to this. Turns out, it had originally been a coroner's car in Ohio. Because it was meant for hauling weight, it had been a special build, including the 351W under the hood. Nobody but me could figure out how to get the damned thing to start when it was cold! Not a single person there knew how to engage a choke!
Agreed! I wish we could put the money together and buy it for him. This one would be his baby for sure.
