This is the full Stretch 8-door model (I have seen Versions with 4 passenger side doors and only 2 drivers side doors) 400 2bbl with A/C, something is funky looking on the lower drivers rear 1/4, but other than that it looks to be in OK condition. odd to see one with cab clearance lights but no roof rack or cargo box. But I do not know what is going on with the 455 Badge on the grill and the 400 2bbl as described in the ad, also I do not know what all the added on dash switches. The interior is kinda rough and slapped together. Looks like manual windows also! Not Really an unreasonable asking price if it runs and drives. http://www.autotraderclassics.com/c...-Catalina-1415611.xhtml?conversationId=702340
Am I imagining it or is the dashboard and speedometer area bit dusty? By the way, Where would a person get one of these washed? And what would the (General and average, Without modifications) Fuel economy be for one of these? What's the acceleration time from zero to sixty? I'm not about to buy one this year but it's something to talk about at least.
Assuming this thing could hold 10 or 11 passengers (not including a possible flip-up seat in the way-back), it does make you wonder where their luggage went. Perhaps a van followed to transport the luggage?
Fuel economy = 4-6 gallons per mile. 0-60 = in about 5 minutes And as for braking, I would guess 60-0 in about 100 yards
It must have been removed when it got repainted otherwise this car would have been pretty useless when it was new. The rack and the probably the roof under the supports were probably rotted so it was easier to just get rid of it. I think it's a cool car though and seems reasonably priced if you go by the pictures.
I agree, the ones I remember seeing had a Large enclosed Luggage carrier on the roof, usually with a secondary A/C unit built into it. And they usually had the fwd facing rear seat, that had room for maybe 3 or 4 bags behind it.
