This looks so WORTH getting back on the road. I mean too bad the
original drivetrain was yanked, but should be able to put a lot of different
motors in it. A 350 should go in with ease, but I'm not really a Chevy
guy, so I'm not certain. Still, a fairly rare beast!(y)

I couldn't tell on CL, but if this were on ebay, I'd bet he'd easily get $2800 -- even minus the drivetrain. Chevy wagons of these years are pretty popular and seem to be sginificantly rarer than the Fords, consequently they go for higher prices. If it had the drivetrain, and if the rust isn't any more extensive than described, I'd guess it would be going for $5k or $6K, if not better.

I'm not a Chevy guy either, but this is one of my favorite years for that make. I'd want the hideaway headlights, though.

I don't know what it would take to put a 350 in this (I'm ssuming it still has the driveshaft, since it wasn't mentioned), but I'm pretty sure any big block Chevy and TH400 would drop in nicely. Although it wouldn't be quite as cheap as a 350, it shouldn't be too hard to scrounge a decent 396/402 or 454, and I'm guessing there probably wouldn't be any motor mount mods, hose or wire re-routing, etc. required. If the price difference wasn't too much, it might be worth it to avoid those headaches (I know it's nothing for the experienced engine swapper, but that doesn't describe me). It would be a little more authentic, too.

I think if it had the original drivetrain, and ran, 5 to 6 K would happen.

In this case, it doesn't run, because it has no engine/trans.
Other than four places that have rust it's rust free..........

    I think it's a little pricey........

Wow, who'd imagine I'd ever be the one defending the asking price?

I've just seen a lot of exorbitant prices on Chevy wagons of this era. By contrast, even with its faults (assuming they're not worse than described), this seems like a pretty good deal for someone looking for a '69 KE fun/casual show car without taking out a second mortgage. If I were that person, I'd seriously consider this car.

This wagon looks too nice to have used it as an engine donor for some non-original muscle car clone. Alas, no one asked for my opinion!

If it is as nice as it looks in the photos, I think it is probably worth near the asking price. The '69 Kingswood Estate is high in desirability and low in availability.

That steering wheel has to go...as for the wagon ,one could also do a LS V-8 swap in it. Maybe a 6.0 or 6.2 liter V-8....

The big-car haters out there use these as organ donors, good only for the drivetrains, according to them. The condition of the "donor" is of zero consequence to that crowd. All they want to do is build their fake musclecar "tribute", "clone"...FAKE!
