WOW! That's a beautiful little wagon, and not a bad price at all for something so clean and all original.
This is a perfect example of spending more to get more. Sure, if you wanted a Hornet Sportabout you could probably find one in the $1,500 - $2,000 range, and then go about the money and time it would take to make into a nice wagon. It's probably going to need quite a bit of interior and exterior work, not to mention whatever needs attention under the hood. This one is more money of course, but you've already got a pretty nice vehicle to start with, and you can really enjoy it right away. This was sort of my buying philosophy when I got the Safari.
