Yeah, it looks like 50's Olds City doesn't it? And I think I sees a mid 50's Merc as well?

Forlorn is right. The front end treatment looks like somebody depressingly frowning with droopy, sad eyes.

This would cost a small fortune to restore...too bad. What a cool wagon it must have been once.

Come on people. The 1949-50 Oldsmobiles were great looking, nice riding, very peppy cars. I had a 1949 Rocket 88 coupe for years.
This is not a bad price considering how few were made. I even know of a close friend with a spare 1949 coupe he's using for his 1950 coupe restoration. There would be enough parts to make this one at least a nice resto-rod. Apparently this is an early 1950 since the 50's have a one piece windshield. Or the owner is a little off.
Besides how many hiding places are there in beautiful Coweta Co, GA MotoMike? If this car had been in Pierce, Neb a month ago it would have sold for $77,995.:rofl2:

The bestest man and his girlfriend at our wedding, now man and wife, has a nice 1950 coupe that got smoke damaged when his metal building half burned down. That and his recently restored 1955 T-Bird were lucky that smoke damage and minor burnt paint were all that happened. Now both need re-restored. But that 1950 Olds fastback still looks nice to us. He and I sat in it in his barn this past July going "uddin uddin", waving at chicks.
Both of us had a green 1949 Oldsmobile coupe. His was his high school car in the late 50's. Mine was my drive to work car in the later 60's. Those cars were smooth riding and fast.
PS We did ride around his 10 acres in the baby blue 55 T-Bird, scaring his neighbors chickens.

Looks like you're our '49 Olds guru, if anybody is. What exactly is this one, Sir?:

My guess is this is a 1949 Olds station wagon. The two piece windshield and the headlight bezels make me certain it is a 1949 Olds. Of course, it could be an early 1950 because many companies cleaned their closets before the yearly change over. Titles were sometimes marked for a later year if at the new model season. Being politically correct it is a 1948-49-50-51-52-53-54 automobile.
My 1949 Olds 88 was the first automatic I owned and drove. Not counting the slush-o-matic fluid drive in my first car, 1949 Dodge. That hydramatic tranny was a tough and apparently indestructable one. You wouldn't believe how I tried to tear it up before junking a perfectly good 49 Oldsmobile. I still don't know why.:banghead3:
